DRAINAGE CORRECTION
THE IMPORTANCE OF DRAINAGE MITIGATION AND GRADE CORRECTION
THE COSTS OF POOR DRAINAGE
In Northern Colorado, torrential seasonal rainfall and seasonal snowmelt can cause havoc. Inadequate grading and drainage can be catastrophic for homes and properties. Unchecked water accumulation leads to the formation of standing water, creating the perfect breeding ground for numerous issues. From waterlogged lawns and gardens to seeping moisture compromising basements and crawl spaces, the impacts can extend beyond what's visible from the surface.
These negative consequences of poor drainage extend beyond mere inconvenience. As standing water permeates the soil surrounding a property, it can gradually compromise foundations, leading to structural issues that may emerge over time. Such deterioration can weaken the very core of a building, resulting in cracks, settling, and even shifts in the structure. Left unchecked, these foundation problems can escalate into costly repairs, compromising the long-term value of the property and causing immense stress to homeowners.
Beyond preserving the structural integrity of buildings, effective grading and drainage elevate the entire landscape's resilience and functionality. Well-designed drainage systems prevent waterlogging, soil erosion, and root rot, allowing lawns and gardens to thrive. With the constantly shifting weather in Northern Colorado, it's vital to ensure your property is prepared for the worst. Protect your investment in your property with drainage correction.
DRAINAGE SOLUTIONS
TECHNIQUES TO ENSURE PROPER DRAINAGE
FRENCH DRAINS
HIDDEN WATER MANAGEMENT
French Drains are great for underground applications. In low lying areas, these systems carry water away from problem areas while slowly releasing it back into the ground.
-
Foundations, retaining walls, low lying areas.
-
Collects water through filtration system.
-
Directs collected water to discharge area.
UNDERGROUND DOWNSPOUTS
KEEP WATER AWAY FROM THE FOUNDATION
Heavy rains can often lead to water collecting near foundations at the bottom of your downspouts. Buried downspouts and catch basin systems help move water away from foundation areas and dispose of it properly.
-
Install with a catch-basin for easy cleanout and maintenance.
-
Divert water to streets, drainage areas, dry wells or other collection points.
-
Keeps water away from your foundation system.
DRY WELLS & SWALES
WATER STORAGE AND MANAGEMENT
When you need to manage a lot of runoff, dry swales and wells help dissipate water over time. These large basins filled with rock allow water to collect and slowly absorb into the soil.
-
Excellent solution to tie into a Xeric landscape.
-
Great for larger amounts of runoff.
-
Easily combines with buried downspouts and French drain systems.
OUTDOOR SUMP PUMPS
FOR CHALLENGING SLOPES
When the existing slope of a property can't easily be corrected, or volumes of water are too large, exterior sump pumps aid in moving water where it needs to go. Collecitng water is pumped out of low spots and towards properly draining slopes.
-
For more challenging grades and complex areas.
-
Great for larger amounts of runoff.
-
Combines with solid wall drain systems to carry water to storage areas or storm sewers.
GRADING & SLOPE CORRECTION
ENCOURAGE PROPER DRAINAGE
Sometimes, a general re-grade of an existing slope is all it takes to correct the path of water.
-
Correct negative drainage with soil infill and grade correction.
-
Fix erosion with custom slope solutions and mitigation practices.
-
Encourage positive drainage.

3.
CONSTRUCTION
Upon the completion of the estimate and finalization of the scope and agreement, our team will be at your property to prepare for construction. We'll walk you through what to expect, material and equipment staging and how the project will come together. From here, our team will begin the installation of your drainage solutions.
4.
SYSTEM TESTING
Prior to completion of the system, our team will test all the physical components. We'll run water through lines to ensure the full operational effectiveness for piece of mind.
5.
RESTORATION
Once all components of your drainage system are in place, our team will work to establish final grades and restore your property back to its original landscaping. This step often includes restoring a previous landscape, erosion control systems, or a brand new landscape design.
